Thousands of Danish young calves are starving and thirsty on long-distance journeys out of the country, according to a report published today by Animal Protection Denmark. The calves stay in the trucks for up to 17 hours in conditions neither in accordance with Danish or EU law. Animal Protection Denmark is calling for a Danish ban on the long-distance transport of unweaned young calves.
