On November 18, the French Senate definitively adopted a new animal protection bill “aimed at combating animal abuse and strengthening the link between animals and humans”. This success follows an agreement on the measures by a joint commission (composed of deputies and senators) on October 21, and an almost unanimous adoption at the National Assembly on November 16. As well as the end of the captivity of dolphins and orcas in inadequate dolphinaria, and the implementation of support to improve the detention of wild animals in zoos.
