Beyond Meat makes first quarterly profit

The meat replacement specialist Beyond Meat can continue to rely on the boom in vegan burgers - and has made its first quarterly profit.

In the past third quarter, revenue grew three-and-a-half times year-over-year to $ 92 million. The company announced in El Segundo, California.

The bottom line was Beyond Meat's $ 4.1 million profit. A year ago, the company reported a loss of $ 9.3 million. Profitability in day-to-day business has also increased significantly due to growth, the company said. Beyond Meat also increased its sales prospects for the full year due to the good sales: Between 265 and 275 million dollars in revenue should be there instead of the previously more than 240 million dollars.

However, all of this initially was of little use on the stock exchange: The stock, which at times had been a shooting star on Wall Street in the past few months, lost more than 8 percent after the exchange because early investors should sell their shares starting on Tuesday and should thus be able to monetize the sharp rise in prices.
