The Ulster Society for the Prevention Cruelty to Animals, or USPCA, is the second oldest animal welfare charity in the world. Their mission is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering in animals and the advancement of animal welfare. They work directly with both wildlife and companion animals by responding to reports of cruelty, mistreatment, or animals in distress. They provide veterinary care, and rehabilitate and re-home animals from their network of shelters. The USPCA also works at national and international levels to advance legislation and policy on animal welfare.
