Stichting Proefdiervrij believes in a future without animal testing, through the development and implementation of animal-free research. They fund groundbreaking research and inform the public, scientists and students about animal-free innovation, and work together with science, government and industry and play a pioneering role in this.

On 25 July the European Commission responded to the European Citizens' Initiative "Save cruelty-free cosmetics". Their response caused much controversy, in particular from a fear of the consequences of an abrupt ban on animal testing. As far as Proefdiervrij is concerned, these fears are unfounded.

Eurogroup for Animals warmly congratulates Tilly Metz and Jytte Guteland for winning the Political Achievement Award on the occasion of the tenth year anniversary of the Lush Prize. With a focus on the “3Rs in transition: from development to application”, the Congress hosted a number of sessions covering a diverse range of topics. Many sessions explored the development of innovative non animal models for application in the development of treatments for human disease as well as areas such as chemical safety testing and drug testing.
