The Research Executive Agency (REA) project CERES helped answer this question by sharing its research outcomes at the annual Seminar on Fisheries Science of the European Commission, held in Brussels last Friday.

The event explored research needs and priorities in the field of fisheries for the coming years.

What will be the impact of climate change on Europe’s fish and shellfish resources and on the fishing industry? The EU-funded project CERES (678193) presented last Friday, 20 September, its work and results to the fisheries sector and policy-makers to prepare for and adapt to the adverse impact and potential benefits of climate change.

In the months leading up to the end of the project, Myron Peck, the project’s coordinator from the University of Hamburg, has pledged to transfer the knowledge gathered by CERES to policymakers.
