Toulouse: wild boars equipped with GPS collars

In order to better manage their presence, wild boars have been equipped with GPS to understand their movements.
For four years, the organization of hunters has been able to observe a real increase in the presence of these wild animals in urban areas. The lieutenants of the louveterie, a brigade which manages the fauna and the capture of wild animals in the city center have therefore equipped since last year six wild boars with GPS collars to identify their movements and ensure "better ecological management and term of town planning ”of the problem.
