Open letter to the competent authorities in Germany to withdraw authorisation for research laboratory and ensure measures to avoid further horrific practices

The RSPCA was shocked and appalled at the practices depicted in an undercover video made by the organisations Cruelty Free International and SOKO Tierschutz at a contract research laboratory in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The video shows some extreme animal suffering and distress, and is deeply upsetting to watch.
We have written open letters to the two bodies that are responsible for regulating lab animal care and use in Lower Saxony, LAVES and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. The letters strongly condemn the culture at LPT and call for it to be closed down.
