The Avril group, number 1 in the egg market in France, alone producing nearly 3.5 billion eggs per year (almost a quarter of French production), made a commitment this Friday, June 21 no longer produce or market eggs from caged hens by 2025.

The Avril group's commitment comes following the publication by L214 of two surveys over the past two weeks, one in a battery hen farm supplying the group, and the other in the Sourches experimental center (72 ) belonging to the Avril group and practicing in particular research on fistulated cows. After nearly a year of campaigning asking the group to abandon cage hen farming, L214 is delighted with this major breakthrough which marks the planned end of cage hen farming in France.
