Free Webinar: " Moving Beyond Animals in the Neurosciences and Infectious Disease Research"

20 April 2020
News
This talk is the fourth in a series of four lectures dedicated to exploring methods for more human-relevant testing and research and will focus on neuroscience and infectious disease research.

Advances in 3D and in vitro models have led to fundamental improvements in human disease modeling, drug development, toxicology testing, and more. As technology advances scientists are integrating human-relevant methods such as tissues-on-chips, 3D bioprinting, organoids, and other in vitro and in silico models into research to produce more reliable results.

In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, the event has be moved online and will also feature discussions on the use of 3D biomimetic tissue models as predictive platforms to study infectious disease.

Our expert speakers include:

  • Lena Smirnova, PhD, Johns Hopkins University, Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing
  • Cleber Trujillo, PhD, University of California San Diego
  • Cheryl A. Nickerson, PhD, Arizona State University
