It was another hot summer, unfortunately also with regard to stable fires, because more than 143,500 animals died in a fire this summer.
You wouldn't say it, but the chance of a stable fire is small. Due to the arrival of ever larger livestock houses, more and more animals are killed per fire. Such a fire is a disaster for the animals involved. If they are "lucky" they quickly become unconscious, but if they are unlucky they suffer a painful and stressful death, or have to be killed afterwards due to serious burns. For the farmer and his family, staff and for the emergency services, a stable fire is also a terrible experience. You would therefore expect that all involved would save costs and effort to prevent such a fire, but it is not that simple.
