16 December 2020
News
On 27th November, Eurogroup for Animals had a pleasure to meet Claire Bury, Deputy Director General of DG SANTE, the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission.

The Deputy Director General, Claire Bury, and Eurogroup for Animals’ CEO, Reineke Hameleers, and their respective teams discussed the outcomes of the EU Platform on Animal Welfare, Illegal Pet Trade: Game Over report’s recommendations and identified possible actions that could help to improve pet trade landscape. Top priorities defined were: the translation and dissemination of EU PAW guidelines on companion animals and impact of the Delegated Acts under the Animals Health Law, as well as a broader understanding of responsible acquisition of cats and dogs.

We will continue to assist with our expertise to the European Commission and hope for a continuous dialogue.
