Democracy in action: animal welfare features in the Conference on the Future of Europe Report
You can find our IDEAS on page 118 of the Platform Report:
- An Action Plan to transition to animal-free science
- Stop Animal Suffering in Exotic Pet Trade with a Positive List
Why is this important?
The Conference on the Future of Europe is an exercise in democracy, representing an opportunity for European citizens to debate on Europe’s challenges and priorities. The European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission have committed to listen to Europeans and to follow up on the results of the Conference. Our IDEAS being published in the report gives us an important lever on which to rest our demands to make the world a better place for animals.
Thanks to those who have already endorsed our IDEAS, and we encourage you to spread the word and get others to continue to endorse these comments. The final report will be released on 9 May, and we want to be included in the final report as well, to give our work for animal welfare even more strength.
All you need to do is visit the Digital Platform, create an EU account, and "endorse" our ideas for animal welfare.
