News
On July 10 Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. declared they will totally ban animal testing for food and beverages by the end of 2021.

On July 10, Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (Asahi Group) which owns Asahi Breweries, Asahi Soft Drinks, and Asahi Group Foods responded to JAVA’s request to ban animal testing. The group declared they will totally ban animal testing for food and beverages by the end of 2021. They also said that they will ban animal testing for cosmetics and quasi-drugs immediately.

Although there are 18 months to go until the end of 2021, JAVA welcomes the decisive measure of Asahi Group to take the voices of consumers who do not want animal testing seriously and decided a total ban of animal testing.

Within a short period of about five months from  meeting with Asahi Group, JAVA was able to draw out the Asahi Group’s decision to complete ban animal testing including that for health claim such as food for specified health uses (FOSHU) and foods with functional claims (FFC).
