On 13 April Animal Friends Croatia (AFC) will organize the country’s biggest animal rights march for the third time in the capital city, Zagreb. AFC invites all citizens to join the peaceful march and stand for those who have been deprived of their fundamental rights, for nonviolence and for justice.

Supported by numerous national and international organisations, the organizers believe that the momentum for the animal rights movement has arrived in Croatia. “We want to speak up for the animals exploited and tortured by the entertainment industry, the fashion and food industries, in experiments, and those who have been abandoned,” says AFC’s Bernard Franolic.

Previously the march was organized in December, marking International Animal Rights Day. Last year it brought together activists from Zagreb and many other Croatian cities, as well as neighbouring countries. With numerous creative signs and slogans, accompanied by the positive atmosphere created by the drummers of Drum’n’Bijes (Drum and Rage), the participants spread a message of compassion for all animals’ suffering throughout the city. We hope that April’s march will gather the largest and loudest crowd so far.
